Touch a Truck fundraiser planned for May 9

A Touch a Truck fundraiser is planned for Saturday, May 9 at the Health and Human Services Building (HHSB) located at 1062 Route 38 in Owego.

Touch a Truck is an interactive, one-day event which allows children to see, touch, and explore their favorite big trucks and vehicles as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build the community.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The price is $5.00 per person/child, or $20 maximum for family in the same household. Under age two is free!

Vehicles on display may include construction trucks, emergency responders, tractor-trailers, utility trucks, racecars, helicopters and tractors, and many others. All vehicles will be stationary and turned off.  Each vehicle will have an operator in attendance to talk about the vehicle, its operation, and role in the community.

The operators are also in charge of how much access the public is allowed to have to their vehicle. Children will not be allowed to climb into a vehicle without permission and supervision of the operator. Adult supervision is required for all children.

This event is to raise funds for the Family Resource Centers of Tioga County, a program of CCE Tioga. The vision of the Family Resource Centers of Tioga County is that all children will be raised in nurturing and resilient families within safe and supportive communities. Your investment in children is an investment in the future of Tioga County.
