Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation awards Special Project Grant to the Waverly Little League

The Waverly Little League announces that a Special Project Grant was received from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation in the amount of $4,470. These funds will be used to purchase a “small” 52-seat set of bleachers for the first baseline of the “B-Field” (North Field).

The acquisition of this additional set of bleachers will provide for a more comfortable seating arrangement for all spectators young and old wishing to watch a Waverly Little League Baseball Game.

Waverly Little League aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience, in which every athlete is coached using the principles of the Little League Coach; has fun playing the game; feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance; learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the playing field; and learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improves as a player.

They recognize coaches most directly make this possible, so they provide all coaches with the tools to succeed as Little League Coaches. They are committed to creating a culture in which coaches, parents, fans, umpires, and athletes work together to achieve our mission.

This Special Project Grant received from the Foundation will help Waverly Little League continue to pursue and achieve its mission and goals. Everyone is welcome to visit Waverly Little League’s Baseball complex located next to Lincoln Elementary School on Liberty Street in Waverly.

Opening Day is Saturday, April 25, 2015.
