Robotics programming available

Cornell Cooperative Extension Tioga County 4-H is proud to announce two Robotics Programs for this Spring.

Lego WEDO is a starter robotics program for youth ages five to eight. Using Lego WEDO kits youth learn basic engineering design and programming. This program will be offered March 31 thru April 2 at the Ronald E. Dougherty County Office Building in Owego from 10 a.m. until noon. Youth must preregister for this program by calling CCE Tioga (607) 687-4020. The cost of the program is $15.00 per youth and space is limited.

Lego NXT – Mindstorms is a more advanced robotics program for youth ages nine to 19 that encourages youth to design basic robots to complete specific tasks. Youth learn about engineering design and programming through hands on activities using Lego NXT Mindstorm kits.

This program will meet on Thursday evening from 5 to 6:30 p.m. beginning April 9 and ending June 18. Youth will have an opportunity to show off their work at the Owego Strawberry Festival, Tioga County Fair and the New York State Fair. Program meetings will be held at the Ronald E. Dougherty County Office Building in Owego. The cost to participate is $25.00 per youth and space is limited.
