Gymnastics Center to host Bingo Fundraiser

Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center and their Team Booster Club will be hosting a Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday, March 14, from 6 to 9 at Tioga Opportunities located at 9 Sheldon Blvd. in Owego, N.Y. For a $10 donation you will receive four Bingo Cards for the evening. Extra cards will be available for purchase.

There will be more than 45 fabulous prizes, gift certificates, and baskets donated from various vendors and individuals. The night will be filled with fun, food, and is an excellent opportunity to help out our not-for-profit organization, which is currently celebrating 50 years of serving the community.

In addition to the games there will be Mario’s Pizza, baked goods and drinks for sale, with a 50/50 raffle at the end of the night. The profits from the fundraiser will benefit the Center and gymnasts.

During their 50 years, the Center has gone through many changes, beginning as the Girls Gymnastic-Athletic Club of Owego with the purpose of promoting gymnastics for girls. Over the ensuing years, they not only have continued to improve the quality of their girls’ gymnastics program, but have added gymnastics classes for boys, toddlers, teens,and tumblers.

Seeing a need, they have also added programs in dance; Tae Kwon Do; children with special needs, field trips for community organizations and schools; family fun days; school holiday fun days for school age children and preschoolers; Zumba and toning for adults, and their newest program – Wizard Warriors, a class incorporating martial arts, gymnastics, parkour and other skills for teens and adults.

They are currently the only gymnastics facility in Tioga County and the only not-for-profit gymnastics center in the area and continue to add new activities and improve the quality their programs to better serve their community.
