OA Foundation for Excellence in Education is accepting grant applications

The Owego Apalachin Foundation for Excellence in Education has recently announced they are accepting grant applications through Feb. 28.

The Owego Apalachin Foundation For Excellence in Education is a community wide, independent, not-for-profit organization. The Foundation’s mission is to enhance the education of the students within the Owego Apalachin district boundaries, public and non-public, by providing private funding and stimulating community support for innovative and challenging educational programs.

Application forms may be requested until Feb. 28, or the application forms may be downloaded at their website, OAFoundation.com up to the Feb. 28 deadline.

Grants will be awarded at their Annual Grants Award Ceremony this year on Wednesday, April 28; an event hosted by Braided Cord Cooperative at South Apalachin Baptist Church, 4116 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, N.Y.

Ideas for grants can be submitted by students, teachers, staff, parents, residents, businesses and/or agencies. The Foundation will be looking for ideas that will help prepare students for the challenges of this century and enhance their educational experiences.

The Foundation encourages grant requests up to $500.00 per grant. Only one request can be made per program. Multiple grants will be awarded in one period. Grants must be used within one year of acceptance. No stipends will be accepted. No recess or playground equipment will be accepted. No instructor training will be accepted.

After receiving the written application request, a copy of the application with instructions will be mailed to the applicant.

Completed grant applications must be received or postmarked on or before Feb. 28.
