Newark Valley High School to present ‘The Pajama Game’

On Feb. 13 and 14, at 7 p.m., Newark Valley High School will present “The Pajama Game” in the Jewel Griffith Auditorium at the Newark Valley High School, 68 Wilson Creek Rd., Newark Valley, N.Y.

The Pajama Game is a musical written by George Abbott and based on the novel “7-1/2 Cents” by Richard Bissell featuring a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. The story deals with labor troubles in a pajama factory, where worker demands for a seven-and-a-half cent raise are going unheeded. In the midst of this ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the new factory superintendent.

This production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) and includes a cast of 20 students in grades eight through 12.

General seating tickets are $8 for adults, and $6 for students and senior citizens. You can purchase tickets in advance from one of the actors or at the door the night of the performance.
