According to New York State’s Public Health Law, all dogs, cats, and ferrets are required to be vaccinated by 4-months of age. Pet owners who fail to maintain current vaccination may receive a fine up to $200 per animal.
Rabies clinics will be held as follows:
Saturday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Candor Fire Station, 74 Owego Rd., Candor.
Thursday, April 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Waverly Village Barn, 81 Spring St., Waverly.
Saturday, May 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hickories Park, 359 Hickories Park Rd., Owego.
Thursday, May 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Valley Fire Station, 7151 Rt. 38, Newark Valley.
Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Apalachin Fire Station, 230 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin.
Thursday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nichols Park, Spencer.
Thursday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tioga Central School, 27 5th Ave., Tioga Center.
Saturday, Nov. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Waverly Village Barn, 81 Spring St., Waverly.
Clinics are hosted by the Tioga County Department of Health. A $10.00 donation per animal is requested, but not required. No animal will be turned away for inability to pay.
Owners are responsible for their pet.
