OLL News BriefThere are two important announcements to the Owego Little League (OLL) family and community from President Ken Winters.

First, OLL registration for the 2015 season is open and may be done two ways – by computer as well as face to face. Second, for the first time, four year olds within the Owego-Apalachin School District are eligible to sign up for Tee Ball and play during the 64th season at Hyde Park.Visit www.eteamz.com/owego, maintained by Webmaster Eric Hawkins. Choose Your Category. Baseball for Boys and Girls Ages five to 12. Age must be between four and 12 as of May 1, 2015. Softball for Girls Ages eight to 12. Age must be between seven and 12 as of Jan. 1, 2015. Teener League Baseball Boys Ages 13-16. Age must be between 12 and 16 as of Jan. 1, 2015.

There will be signup at the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club on two Thursdays, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Little League-Williamsport created a new program for Tee Ball players (ages four to six) that is specifically designed to provide a foundation and introduction to baseball and softball that is grounded in fun, fitness and fundamentals.

This is a great resource for a first time or veteran coach. Little League’s package include detailed and quick practice plans for each week of the 10-week program. Activity guides explaining each drill and activity in detail. Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) tips for each week. SKLZ-Fun-damentals videos focusing on teaching basic Tee Ball Skills.

Owego Little League and Apalachin Little League players are encouraged to attend a late February baseball clinic run by the Owego Free Academy Baseball Staff and Varsity Baseball Players.

Little League players age 10 to 14 report on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the OFA gym. You’ll be split into age groups. Players are remained to dress in baseball attire and bring bat and glove. Bats will be available for those who don’t have one yet.
