After receiving confirmation from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office on Friday morning, it was confirmed that Ronald A. Warner Jr., age 39 of Candor, N.Y. was arrested Thursday morning following an investigation from an incident that occurred at Punk’s Place Bar in Candor, N.Y. on Wednesday night. According to The Tioga County Sheriff’s Department, deputies charged Ronald A. Warner Jr. with second-degree manslaughter, a class C felony in the death of Daryl S. Dayhart, 56, of Brooktondale, N.Y.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the arrest of Ronald A. Warner Jr. was the result of an investigation following an emergency 911 call around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday of a disturbance at Punk’s Place Bar, located at 21 Mill St. in the village of Candor.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ronald A. Warner Jr. was alleged to have recklessly caused the death of Daryl S. Dayhart.
On Dec. 26, an autopsy performed at Lourdes Hospital by Dr. James Terzian, and observed by Tioga County Investigators and Tioga County District Attorney Kirk O. Martin, determined that the death derived from blunt head trauma due to physical assault.
Ronald A. Warner Jr. was arraigned by the Village of Candor’s Justice Swartz, who remanded him to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $125,000 cash or $250,000 bond.
