State Police investigate two-car, fatal crash in Homer

On Oct. 31, 2014, the New York State Police at Homer investigated a two-car, fatal, head-on collision in the Town of Homer, N.Y. The collision occurred on ST-90 at approximately 9:20 a.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Ford dump truck, owned by the Town of Sempronius and being operated by Tyler Bloodgood, age 27 of Moravia, N.Y. was traveling westbound on ST-90, when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a 2011 Ford F350 pick-up traveling eastbound, being operated by Raymond C. Wamsley, age 38 of Stamford, N.Y.

Tyler Bloodgood was transported to Cortland Regional Medical Center and was treated and released.

Raymond Wansley was pronounced deceased at the scene, while his passenger, Herbert Roe, age 50, of East Meredith, N.Y. was also transported to Cortland Regional Medical Center and was treated and released.

The investigation into the collision is continuing.

The New York State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the New York State Deptartment of Transportation, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department, the Homer Police Department, the Homer Fire Department, and TLC Ambulance Service.
