Amy Wales, age 45 of Chestnut Street in the Village of Owego, N.Y. was sentenced today in Tioga County Court to 120 days in the Tioga County Jail, and five years probation.
Amy Wales was arrested on Dec. 10, 2013 by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division for Grand Larceny 2nd Degree.
This arrest was a result of a three month investigation into the reported embezzlement of funds from the bank accounts of the Owego Apalachin Employee’s Association, where Wales was serving as the Union Treasurer. The investigation revealed funds of over $50,000 were taken over the previous year.
