Candor Pantry receives boost from Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation grant

The Resource Center of Candor Inc., also known as the Bread of Life Food Pantry, is pleased to announce the receipt of an $18,000 grant from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation. The grant enabled the pantry to purchase what is known as “The Coal Barn” from the Village of Candor on Sept. 22, 2014.

The Food Pantry has been in operation at this location for over seven years. There have been many upgrades to the property over the past year, including a new furnace and ductwork, drainage in the front and back of the building, spray foam insulation and new sheet rock and paint. They were also able to purchase and install a walk-in cooler/freezer.

The pantry appreciates the support and confidence the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation board members have in the pantry and the efforts to move forward and help those in need.
