Over $73,000 was raised for the Sayre House of Hope at the annual Guthrie Gala, which was held on Sept. 13 in Sayre, Pa. The 2014 Guthrie Gala was sponsored by Chesapeake Energy and was attended by 275 guests.

The Sayre House of Hope, which will receive the funds, is a residence that provides family-centered lodging to patients and their loved ones while receiving medical treatment at Guthrie.

Event Coordinator Jane Clements-Smith said, “This was an extraordinary effort by everyone involved. We were able to raise significant funds to benefit a worthy cause, one that has been supported by employees, physicians, and the community for many years.”

Guests of the Gala were treated to gourmet specialties and drinks provided by the HillTop Inn, Glenora Wine Cellars and Finger Lakes Beer Company, and danced to live music provided by the ten piece band, Into the Spin.
