The Tioga County Open Door Mission is pleased to announce that they have received a grant for $10,000 from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation for the Open Door Mission and The Red Door Outreach Programs for holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2014. Each basket is filled with essentials to prepare holiday meals for those in need.
Signup sheets will be available at the Outreach Pantry at the Open Door Mission, 425 North Ave., Owego, and at The Red Door, 359 Broad St., Waverly, Oct. 1-29. Owego residents will sign up in Owego and Waverly residents at The Red Door location.
The Open Door Mission noted that participants are allowed to sign up at only one pantry in their area for holiday baskets.
This generous grant from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation enables the Tioga County Open Door Mission to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, including turkeys, to individuals, families, and the elderly in need in Tioga County.
