Kimberly Walter adds stitches to American Flag

Kimberly Walter adds stitches to American FlagKimberly Walter, daughter of Owego Pennysaver writer JoAnn Walter, visited Baltimore, Md. with her family in August. At Fort McHenry National Monument, she added several stitches to an American Flag with the help of a National Park worker dressed in period costume. Hundreds of visitors to Fort McHenry shared in the project, and the finished flag will be raised on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at the Star Spangled 200, in honor of Baltimore’s heritage and the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner written by Francis Scott Key.
