The Tioga Arts Council (TAC) and Cloud Croft Studios recently announced the winners of the People’s Choice Awards from the “Everyday Life, Every Day Art: By the Numbers” exhibit, held Sept. 6 through Oct. 5 at the South Owego studio.
After counting 308 ballots, they are pleased to announce the People’s Choice Award winners as follows: Donna Morgan received 22 votes for her encaustic mixed media piece, Michal; and Kevin Fahey and Michelle Schleider tied, each with 14 votes for their respective pieces: Where the Two Rivers Meet and Reflection.
The 2019 Award winners include the following: Best in Show – Brian Keeler, Sun Dogs – NYC; Painting – Michelle Schleider, Reflection; Sculpture – Tim Jackson, Ever Upwards; Photography – Sandra Kirker, The Weaver; Clay – Susan Szczotka, Horsehair and Mica; Graphics – Cynthia Cratsley, Lakeside; Special “Edibles” Theme – Andrew Fitzsimmons, Teapot #1; Mixed Media – Julie Thurber, Indestructible; and Fiber – Barbara Behrmann, After the Harvest.
Honorable Mentions included Amy Hoi Ngan Hsiao, January Road and Frank Longo, Sculpture #11.
From Sept. 6 through Oct. 5, Cloud Croft hosted seven events and counted approximately 450 visitors. They also sold over $2,500 works of art. Now that the event is complete, they will conduct a post-event survey and begin planning for Everyday Life, Every Day Art in September 2020.
