On Wednesday, at 2:20 p.m. in the Owego Free Academy (OFA) Lobby, three of Owego Free Academy’s finest athletes signed letters of intent to play either Division I and II athletics.
Zoe Mahon has signed a national letter of intent to the perennial powerhouse of women’s lacrosse at Lemoyne College.
Mahon been playing on the varsity lacrosse team since eighth grade and was also selected to the Under Armour National Team, the Brine Lacrosse National Team, and Brine Lacrosse National All-Star team, which represented players from Upstate New York.
Tyler Phelps is a three-sport athlete at Owego where he plays football, lacrosse and runs track and field.
Phelps owns two school records in football that include the single-season passing record as well as the single-season completion record.
Phelps signed a letter of intent on Wednesday to play at the Division II Seton Hill University.
Summer Pierce, a swimmer from OFA, is headed to swim for Division I at the University of Massachusetts.
Pierce is a 19-time class B sectional event winner as well as an A-A-U Junior Olympic Games Outstanding Performance award winner. She also holds seven of the possible 11 school records for her sport.
