Registration continues for free computer classes

The Tioga Adult Learning Lab, (TALL) is still accepting registration for classes in basic computer instruction for July and August 2018.  TALL serves adult students throughout the Southern Tier, and is sponsored by Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties, Inc., in partnership with Tioga County.  

TALL’s program manager and assistant provide instruction in introductory level computer applications. No Internet access or printer working at your home? High speed Internet Broadband service is also available, even for those not taking classes. There are no fees for any of the classes or services TALL provides.

The TALL Program is still accepting registrations for the following classes. 

“Using E-Mail Effectively” will take place on Tuesday, July 31, from 9 to 11 a.m.; “Basics of Microsoft® PowerPoint” will meet on Aug. 1 and 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. (attend both mornings); “Resume Success” will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon; “Basics of Microsoft® Publisher” will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m.; “Social Networking – Using Facebook” will meet on Thursday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon; and “Basics of Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Word” will meet on Aug. 14, 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to noon (attend all mornings). 

Each class will meet at the Owego Free Academy’s second floor, Room 287, Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. 

Students should be pre-registered to attend classes, although walk-ins are accepted. Students can pre-register by calling the Literacy Volunteers office at (607) 778-6406.
