Dear Editor,
I have no true political party affiliation, but I do believe that smaller government is necessary and that I would much rather have the choice of how I spend my money as opposed to the Democratic Socialist belief that they know better how to spend it.
I have always believed the saying that if you are not part of the answer, then you are part of the problem. There is not a day goes by that there aren’t news articles on how the democrats are trying to block some Trump administration objective. It must be a great way to make a living just sitting back and objecting to any initiatives without offering positive suggestions or alternatives.
There was a great deal of objections to the Tax Reform initiatives, which has resulted in increases in individual paychecks. One of the biggest objections was the SALT deductions from five Democratic states, including New York. What is quite interesting is that when you file your New York State taxes, there is an option to itemize deductions for individuals paying high property taxes, meaning the average person is subsidizing this group.
As the upcoming November elections are approaching, please consider asking the person you are supporting why New York State is constantly ranked at the top of the Highest Taxed States and Most Expensive Places to Retire.
Ask them why, according to the 2016 census, New York State lost close to 1 million of its population. Then ask them what they would do about these facts.
Make your choices on an individual’s approach and philosophy, and not on a specific party affiliation. Make your choices on records of accomplishment and not on records of simply objecting based on party affiliations.
God Bless America and I am proud to say that.
Sincerely,
Rance Brode
