Last week the Strawberry Festival committee announced its theme for this year’s festival, Strawberry Jamboree, planned for June 15 and 16 in downtown Owego. A recent story touched lightly on the exciting lineup of entertainment planned, to include the dinosaurs that will be in Owego throughout the weekend.

The dinosaur event is new this year as well as an act that will be high off the ground. Artist Robin Lynch, professional aerialist from Ithaca, N.Y., will be setting up her aerial rig next to the music stage at the Courthouse Square. The rig is 20-feet high, and will feature performances by Lynch throughout the festival, as well as demonstrations throughout Friday night’s Block Party and Saturday’s main event.

Lynch has performed at Big Sky Works in Brooklyn, the Bindlestiff Open Stage Variety Show, The Cliffs At Valhalla, the Paterson Art Walk 2012 and 2013, the Bard and Busk Festival in Roxbury, N.Y., the Nimham Mountain Music Festival, Mount Vernon Relay For Life, The Out-Fit Challenge, The Pleasantville Music Festival, Woman Fest, Farm Fest 2013, and the Bellmore Family Street Festival, among others.

Lynch has also trained with well-known aerialists based in the NYC area.

For the festival, guests will be able to find Lynch high above the ground, often choreographing her artistry with the live music.

This unique act is being featured for the first time at Owego’s Strawberry Festival.
