
Vanishing Acts.
Jaimee Wriston Colbert will be at Riverow Bookshop on Friday, April 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. to read from and discuss Vanishing Acts, her sixth novel.
Set in a Hawai’i, Vanishing Acts spans three generations in a “gritty and mysterious tale of family, sorrow, anger, and persistence,” says Donna Seaman in her Booklist review.
Wriston Colbert, a Professor of Creative Writing at SUNY Binghamton University, has been the recipient of numerous book awards for her previous works of fiction, including the CNY Award for Fiction, gold medalist in the Independent Publisher Awards, the Willa Cather Fiction Prize, the Zephyr Prize, the Ian MacMillan Fiction Prize, the Jane’s Stories Award and the Isotope Editor’s Prize.
Her stories have appeared in such journals as New Letters, The Gettysburg Review and Prairie Schooner, and broadcast on the NPR program, “Selected Shorts.”
