Library announces Noon Hour Book Reviews

The Friends of the Coburn Free Library recently announced that the Noon Hour Book Reviews will begin on April 4. The reviews are held every Wednesday in April. They begin promptly at 12:10 and end at 12:45.

Tasty lunches (a sandwich, cookie and a drink) are available for a nominal charge. All of the reviews are held in the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist Church, which is located next to the library on Main Street.

The first review, which will take place on Wednesday, April 4, will feature Gary Williams reviewing The Gatekeepers: How the White House Chiefs of Staff Define Every Presidency, written by Chris Williams.

On April 11, Meredith Gallaro (librarian at the Coburn Free Library) will be discussing Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder, authored by Caroline Fraser.

The author of Wild Things, Jaimee Wriston Colbert, will be in the house on April 18. Jaimee, the author of six books, is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at Binghamton University.

The final review will be presented by Ailsa Donnelley on April 25. She will discuss My Family and Other Animals, which was the basis for the PBS Masterpiece series The Durrells in Corfu, and was written by Gerald Durrell.
