The Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s Nurse Residency Program is now accepting applicants. Residents must have completed an Associate Degree or Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and have passed the state board examination by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing before beginning employment.
Guthrie nurse residency is a 10-and-a-half-month program that educates and supports newly licensed registered nurses through the transition from student to competent professional and incorporates open and small group discussion, hands-on experience during three rotations and professional development exercises. Following completion of the rotations, nurse residents are hired to a unit based on their experiences in rotations.
