Studio 34, a full service spa and salon located at 9 North Main St. in Newark Valley, N.Y., invites the public to “Love Yourself & Treat Yourself,” a Valentine’s season-themed event scheduled on Friday, Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A small-town salon with flair, the staff at Studio 34 believes their business rivals any big-town salons.
Studio 34 staff suggests you schedule your appointment soon to reserve a pamper time. The salon also welcomes guests to bring along a friend, mother, daughter, sister, co-worker or any other loved one for a day to celebrate together.
Three packages for the “Love Yourself & Treat Yourself” day are being offered, starting with “Hugs & Kisses” for $50, which includes a scalp facial, shampoo and style, gel polish, hand scrub and massage. A second choice is “True Love” for $100, which adds in the “Hugs & Kisses” package, along with hand paraffin dip, and a 45-minute customized facial with chocolate mask. A third choice, “Eternal Love” for $160, combines the “True Love” package, as well as an additional 30-minute facial, and a choice of an eyelash perm or gel toes.
Guests who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a $5 gift certificate for use on their next visit. All food items will be donated to a local food bank. Refreshments and beverages will be served, and each attendee will receive a flower donated by George’s Florist.
Ready to pamper guests are Studio 34 professionals, Jennifer Carrier (Morgan), a certified color and Deva curl specialist; Beauty by Nikkota stylist, cosmetologist, makeup and waxing specialist; Nikkota Spoonhower, Whiteflower licensed massage therapist; Stephanie Thompson, Manderz Nail Arts technician; Amanda Kelly, Your Best Beautiful esthetician and wax specialist; and Chanelle Corder, and hair stylist and nail technician, Shelby Lawrence.
Carrier, a Triple Cities hair stylist and Deva curl specialist for over 20 years, explained that techniques and technology are always changing in the beauty industry, so all Studio 34 staff attend new and refresher education courses to keep up with current trends. For Carrier, she is one of the only Deva curl experts in an approximate 60-mile radius.
Corder, referring to some of the newer skin care services offered at the salon, commented, “People don’t realize how important skin care is.”
From traditional to deep tissue massage, to a full array of nail art selections, to hydrating the scalp to promote hair growth, and then hair services for the entire family from cuts to trims to styling to coloring or curling and beyond, along with pedicures and manicures, face and eye make-up, facials and waxing, the salon’s services are many. In addition, available for sale is a full line of hair, skin care and specialty products.
When asked to describe themselves, the Studio 34 staff said they are down-to-earth and family-oriented, and added, “We have amazing talent and are passionate about what we do.”
When you walk inside Studio 34, it’s more than expected after a quick glance at a traditional business look on the outside. The entrance and reception area are bright and inviting, and inside the walls pop with color and are accompanied by modern and artistic wall hangings and mirrors. Joining the sleek look are comfortable chairs within a refreshment area, and all of which lend to a relaxing, de-stressing atmosphere.
Regular salon hours are Monday through Saturday. Call in advance for an appointment time.
