Apalachin Lions Club awards scholarship for 2017 The Apalachin Lions Club recently awarded their scholarship for 2017. The Apalachin Lions Club awarded $3,000 in scholarships for 2017. Each winner received $1,000 at his or her awards ceremonies. 

The scholarship is to promote and reward young people for service to their community and school. This year’s three winners are Erin Thalacker from Owego Free Academy, Thomas Ritz from LEAH Home School, and Madison Card from Vestal Senior High. 

Since 1989, the Apalachin Lions have been awarding scholarships. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners.
