Veterans honored in Tioga County

Various veteran groups prepare for the final presentation at the Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at the Tioga County Veterans Memorial Park in Owego, N.Y.

Special guest, Andrea Di Cesare, an international recording artist and highly regarded violinist from Milan, Italy, played a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. It was the first time that Andrea played the U.S. National Anthem during a public ceremony.

Although he was familiar with the tune, Andrea explained he had practiced it for only a few days prior to the ceremony, and shared about his performance, “I felt it in my heart.”

Keynote speaker, Danielle Ingram, a retired U.S. Air Force Major and nurse and President of the Veterans of Modern Warfare, commented, “Our veterans have protected and served us. They need all of the support that you can give, and deserve a lot of respect. Thank you for coming here and showing it to them.”
