The Children of Abraham to host packing event

The Children of Abraham of the Southern Tier has joined up with “Kids Against Hunger” in making nutritional food packages, costing 25 cents per meal, to send to Syrian refugee camps in Greece. As part of these efforts, the organization will be hosting a packing event on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Michaels Church located at 296 Clinton St. in Binghamton.

The packing event will consist of stations that are set up assembly line style. Each shift will be 45 minutes. You can sign up at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E0D4AAFAF2AA2FC1-september.

The group is also raising money for the cause. For $1, 4 meals can be provided; $10 provides 40 meals; and $25 provides 100 meals. Checks can be made out to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation with “COA Meal Packing Event” in the memo line, and mailed to Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 183 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
