Lourdes holds support groups for children and adults affected by death due to overdose

As the number of people affected by drug addiction grows, more and more families are left to grieve deaths from opioid overdose.

Lourdes Hospital will be offering a support group for children and a support group for adults who are grieving an opioid-related death. The adult and child support groups will take place in separate rooms.

The groups are led by certified social workers and will help address the unique challenges and emotions associated with this type of loss and grief.

The support groups will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal and continue each Tuesday for six weeks.

Registration is required. Call (607) 584-3110 to register.
