Saturday marked the third annual Community Yard Sale at Home Central’s Owego location. The event serves as a fundraiser for local nonprofits, as well as a venue for local residents to have a yard sale with high visibility.
This year $675 was raised for Tioga County Rural Ministries from rental fees for the yard sale and the Owego Little League raised $681 through food sales during the event. Plus over a $100 was raised for the Vestal Little League as well.
Over 40 vendors were on-hand for the Owego event, with thousands of shoppers visiting both the Community Yard Sale and Home Central’s own Clearance Sale. Plans for next year include expanding the reserved yard sale spots to both sides of McMaster Street and improved parking for the event.
Home Central would like to thank Ken Winters and the Owego Little League for their ongoing support for the event and Tioga County Rural Ministries for participating this year, as well as a big thank you to all of the bargain hunters who shopped in downtown Owego on Saturday.
