The Owego Police Department reported that on May 24, officers arrested Kelsi Shamblin, age 22 of West Virginia and Charlton Barfield, age 33 of South Carolina for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.
The arrests are the result of an investigation into a residential burglary that occurred in the Village of Owego in the Halstead Development when the victims arrived to find that their home had been entered and a number of items stolen. The two suspects were apprehended in a home in Johnson City where they have been staying with friends.
Shamblin and Barfield were arraigned in Village of Owego Court by Justice Craig and remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
