“When tomorrow starts without me, try to understand, an angel came and called my name, then took me by the hand.” Jennie M. Emerson, age 92 of Berkshire and Richford, N.Y. left this earth for a better place where there is no pain and sorrow on Nov. 21, 2015. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband Leon and son Robert and life-long friend Thelma Negus.
Jennie will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law who lovingly cared for her, Bonnie and Joseph Hutchings; her grandsons Shawn (Keetah) Hutchings, Jake (Susan) Emerson and Andy Emerson; many great grandchildren including her special Jayden; a sister Helen Allen; her nieces Sharon Sherwood and Anice Goutremont, a nephew Gary Allen, Sr.; and her canine companion Brady.
For many years, Jennie and her husband Leon owned and operated a dairy farm in Richford. She treasured her family, enjoyed gardening and tending to her home.
“Until the day we meet again, we know one thing for sure; you will be there greeting us as we cross through Heaven’s door.”
A special thank you is extended by the family to the Northern Tioga Family Health Center in Newark Valley for many years of care and support, and to Dr. Skiff, whom provided much love and comfort.
