Letter: The Imminent Threat

The imminent threat to the United States as well as our global population is CLIMATE CHANGE. The polar vortex has changed its latitudinal flow to a more irregular one with longitudinal fluctuations.

Just this week (March) it has brought flooding to Hawaii, temperatures of over 100 degrees to Arizona, record-breaking snow to Minnesota, fires in the Midwest, and heavy storms to the East Coast and the Northeast.

Two significant contributors to climate change are the atmospheric gases methane and carbon dioxide. Both have risen due to human activity, mainly from the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas.

Our president has signed an executive order to force coal-fired plants that were in the process of closing to reopen. He has snuffed out wind-powered and solar energy projects across the country.

What is happening is only the appetizer of what is to come. Rising sea levels, along with major storms, are going to force our coastal and island societies to emigrate and seek living elsewhere.

There will be global migration.

Sincerely,

Marty Borko
