The Athens Senior Citizens meet at noon on March 11 at the Athens Wesleyan Church for their St. Patrick’s dish-to-pass luncheon. Everyone enjoyed the variety of foods and desserts.
The group had 28 attendees for this meal. They had two guests, Kathy Burrows and Dale Jarvis of Sayre, who both joined the group.
Ted, the president, gave the invocation, and they all said the Pledge of Allegiance before the meal.
Ted called the meeting to order; Ginny read the secretary’s minutes, and Ruth Cleveland gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved and accepted.
March birthdays were Sylvia Fuller (8) and Don House (19). The group extended prayers for Ted Benjamin and Marsha McCormick, and for any other seniors who cannot attend the meetings.
Drawings were won by Sue Briggs, Larry Raymond, and Lou Tice. Ginny Malone won the door prize: a huge bouquet of pussy willows donated by Anita Whipple.
The seniors are going to Sights and Sounds on June 24. Anyone interested can call Rollin with Rogers for details at (570) 886-1544.
Ted closed the meeting at 1:30 with prayers for a safe month until they meet again on April 8 at Athens Wesleyan Church at noon for a dish-to-pass meal.
