On Saturday, March 1, at approximately noon, Grand Union in Owego permanently closed its doors. Prior to its closure, Grand Union held sales with drastically reduced prices in an effort to empty its shelves.

The first job I had where I got a paycheck was at the local Grand Union. I made $.90 an hour. I was in college at the time and glad to get a part time job.
