Owego Free Academy recently announced the return of its annual Career Shadow event on Wednesday, Nov. 13. This initiative offers high school juniors and seniors an invaluable opportunity to gain direct insight into a range of career pathways by connecting with industry professionals from various fields. This year, they are excited to extend the invitation to students from neighboring Tioga County schools, expanding their reach and impact within the community.
The event aims to equip students with knowledge and experiences that support informed decision-making about their futures. By meeting professionals and exploring diverse career paths, students gain a unique perspective on potential opportunities. For an enhanced experience, students will also have the option to visit employers’ workplaces after the event, offering a more immersive glimpse into their daily routines and work environments.
The setup time on Nov. 13 is between 8:30 and 9 a.m., and the event will run from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. and will be held at Owego Free Academy’s Collaboration Space, and OA Career Center.
The Career Shadow event will be arranged in a job fair-style setup, allowing students to meet one-on-one with professionals and explore potential career paths. With 27 employers already confirmed, students will have numerous options to explore industries that interest them.
