Plein Air Paint Out, music and more at the September 14 Maine Fest

The Nanticoke Valley Historical Society of Maine, N.Y. is hosting the annual Maine Fest on Saturday, Sept. 14, at J. Ralph Ingalls School, located at 35 Church St. in Maine, N.Y., rain or shine. 

The event will feature a Plein Air Paint Out art competition and sale, musical performances by the Maine Town Band and Maine-Endwell High School, a pollinator garden dedication, the award for the biggest tree in Maine, and will conclude with an old-fashioned community sing-along.  

Things begin at 4 p.m. with a performance by the Maine Town Band and free hot dogs, while they last. There will also be a bake sale.

At 5 p.m. there will be a dedication of the Pollinator Garden at J. Ralph Ingalls, along with the announcement of the winner of The Biggest Tree in Maine contest.

The Plein Air Art Display will offer awards and sales, with judging at 5:30 p.m. a performance by members of the Maine-Endwell High School Band will take place at 6 p.m. 

From 6:30-8 p.m. there will be an “Old-Fashioned Community Sing-Along” under the direction of Charlene Thomson and Hilary Rozek.
