The July 10 meeting for the Athens Senior Citizens was held at the Athens Wesleyan Church. They had 21 members attend and one guest, Dale Jarvis (Roselyn’s son). They had two new members join, Bob and Kay Park.
Ginny called many members to redirect them to the new meeting place; and if the calls didn’t get through, she apologies.
Burt Cole began the luncheon and asked Chester Harris to say grace before the group enjoyed chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes and biscuits, many sides, and desserts.
Burt opened the meeting at 12:45 p.m., Ginny read the May Secretary / Treasurer reports that were accepted and approved.
The group then celebrated July Birthdays: (3) Joyce Parish, (5) Joyce Weaver, (9) Cherri Foster, (14) Grace Geffert turned 101 years young, and (29) Patty Benjamin.
Their July Anniversary is Chester and Carolyn Harris, July 2. Raffles winners were Anita Whipple, Pete Steele, Pam Tuesdale, and Patty Benjamin.
The group was asked to keep members not present in their prayers, to include Ted Benjamin, Gerry Keener, Don and Della Scudder, and others.
The Aug. 14 luncheon meeting will be at the Athens Wesleyan Church, located at 3003 Wilwanna Rd. in Sayre, Pa.
The guest speaker will be Tina Pickett, State Representative, 110th Legislative District. Pickett will be able to help with any questions during the meeting.
Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service. Coffee will be provided and guests are welcome.
Burt closed the meeting at 1:15 p.m., Chester said the closing prayer, and Ginny led all in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
