The Vestal Elks will hold their 1st annual Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at their Vestal Avenue location, and is open to the public and will be held rain or shine.
The show will be an “open classes” event with participant judging. Judging will be at noon and the awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Awards will be given for: Top 5, Best Paint, Best Engine, and Best of Show. The awards that will be given are unique and one-of-a-kind.
There will be food, music, and raffles throughout the day. All proceeds are to benefit the Vestal Elks veterans committee.
The Vestal Elks veterans committee has been shipping care packages for over 12 years to local soldiers stationed overseas. So far, over 13,000 soldiers have benefited and enjoyed these packages. The program is funded strictly thru donations from the community. All items that are donated, including monetary, go into the program.
In addition to the care package program, the veterans committee hosts an ice cream social at the Oxford Veterans Home for all the residents. The committee also hosts a Christmas party, complete with presents, for all the veterans in the Alzheimer’s unit. Committee members host an annual Veterans Day dinner at the Vestal Elks Lodge.
