Twice a month, the members of the Apalachin Lions Club meet at Donoli’s restaurant in Apalachin to discuss their next activity to promote a spirit of serving the communities of Apalachin, Campville and Little Meadows.
Annual projects include a Back to School Program, Special Olympics, Christmas Baskets, Easter Egg Hunt, Children’s Eye Screening, and Highway Cleanup.
At a recent meeting, one Lion was honored for her commitment to the Lion’s Motto of “We Serve”.
Lion Paul Huonker presented The Lion of the Year Award to Lion Naomi Rupright, who was chosen by previous winners of the award for her outstanding service and devotion to club activities.
In a release, a representative of the Apalachin Lions Club stated, “Rupright could always be counted on to help with projects and served as club treasurer multiple years.”
