The Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that Adriana DiCosimo, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth DiCosimo, and Gabriel O’Donnell, son of Scott and Colette O’Donnell, 8th grade students at Owego Apalachin Middle School, have been appointed to serve as youth leaders on its Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 school year.

Nominated by their school principal, Thomas Beatty, and counselors Heather Kotula and Katharine Warren, Adriana and Gabe will advise the Board on the activities, interests, preferences and expectations of local youth who would like to be more actively involved in their community, develop leadership skills, and engage in volunteer service and citizenship.

The students will help the Foundation reach out to youth for future community service projects and “points of light” student leadership workshops. They will attend the meetings of the Board at the Bassett Ah-Wa-Ga Center located at 34 1/2 Lake St. in Owego, consult on student scholarships and youth volunteer grants, and receive mentoring from adult professionals in the community.
