Catfish Derby a successOrganizers had another successful Catfish Derby this year. They would like to thank the loyal fishermen who show up every year, rain or shine. The money raised this year will help the Vietnam Veterans of America continue to sponsor their worthy causes again in the coming year.

They would like to thank all of their very gracious sponsors that help to make the Derby better.

They would also like to thank their excellent team of workers, who have helped run the derby for the past 11 years. Also, a thank you to Jeff Barnes and his son for cooking chicken for the last 11 years.

The winners of The 2016 Joseph Kinney Memorial Catfish Derby are as follows.

Adults: Grand Prize – Justin Kaeckmeister, 13.95 lbs.; 1st – Ken Burnett, 11.99 lbs.; 2nd – Vince Conti, 11.54 lbs.; 3rd – Dick Dutton, 11.38 lbs.; 4th – Kalyb Clark, 10.12 lbs.; 5th – Dan Gaylord, 9.99 lbs.; 6th – Jason Garren, 9.72 lbs.; 7th – Mark Milner, 9.55 lbs.; 8th – Jerry Smith, 9.38 lbs.; 9th – Richard Houghtelling, 9.38 lbs.; 10th – James Carr, 9.34 lbs.; 11th – Josh Short, 8.93 lbs.; 12th – Carol Hover, 8.77 lbs.

Children’s Division: 1st Place – Devin Card, 9.72 lbs.; 2nd Place – Kolby Whitmarsh, 9.55 lbs.; and 3rd Place – Donny Winslow III, 7.33 lbs. The Children’s Division also received Trophies.
