The Tanning Spa New York, located at 77 North Ave. in Owego, N.Y., invites you to indulge and escape in a spa-like boutique tanning salon. Officially opening its doors in October 2015, the Tanning Spa is an endeavor of owner, Deb Smith, and offers state-of-the-art tanning in a comfortable atmosphere as well as multiple other services to help customers achieve their ultimate beautiful body.

The Tanning Spa New York is a new oasis in the heart of Owego’s historic district. The business caters to customers’ hip needs with a mix of popular services including UV tanning, custom sunless spray tanning, facials, make-up and nails and teeth whitening.
The establishment houses UV stand-up and tanning beds along with a vast selection of lotions and intensifiers and tan-extending moisturizers. For customers who are not interested in UV, there is an automated sunless application, which is an open-air booth that applies airbrush tans.
As a certified provider of Fit Bodywrap, customers of the spa can receive infrared heat therapy via body wraps, which is a specialized technique used for weight loss, the reduction of cellulite and to relieve pain. For customers interested in other weight loss options, certified employees can advise and coach customers in the beach body program.

Unique to The Tanning Spa New York and, according to Smith, not offered elsewhere in the region, is red light therapy, which is a technique used to improve skin tone and slow down the aging process. Red light therapy treats problems close to the surface of the skin, most notably wrinkles and age spots, as well as other skin conditions.
New to the property this year, a fitness room called the Fitness Spa has been added, which allows customers the use of treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, universal and ab crunch exercise machines, and even a stationary bicycle, among others. Whatever workout plan customers are interested in, fitness coach, Miss Heidi, can provide guidance and consultations.
Smith explained that The Tanning Spa New York is open to women and men. Affordable options are available, including the opportunity to try out certain services for a low fee before committing to regular sessions. Walk-ins are always welcome; however a few of the services work best by arranging an appointment.

Private spa times can be arranged on-site, for example if wedding parties would like to get together as a group at the same time to tan or whiten teeth, and then relax while getting nail treatments, along with any other combinations of options.
Also at the Tanning Spa New York are a variety of products for purchase, including make-up, lotions, hair chalk, and even a selection of swimsuits. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
