‘Flags In’ at St. Patrick’s CemeteryThe Youth Group of St. Patrick’s Church – Owego and St. Margret Mary’s – Apalachin honored the graves of 269 veterans in a “Flags In” ceremony Sunday afternoon.

Gold Star Mother Barbara Bilbrey started with a prayer of remembrance at the grave of her Fallen Hero son. She told the 25 youth every day for her is Memorial Day – A Day of Remembrance – a mother’s love for her first born son.

Twenty-one year old Army Specialist Charles Bilbrey, born May 10, 1986, was Killed In Action by a roadside bomb northeast of Fallujah, Iraq. The Owego Free Academy graduate received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal for his valor in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
