After approximately 30 witnesses and nine days of defense testimony, attorneys for Calvin Harris rested on Thursday afternoon. Now, the prosecution will begin their rebuttals.

The defense has spent the last nine days presenting a theory, and arguments, that someone else is responsible for Michele Harris’ disappearance and presumed murder, and that the investigators in the case were biased, and focused only on Cal Harris.

On Thursday, the attorneys called three investigators in the case back to the stand, trying to find out what they learned from defense investigator leads into Stacey Stewart, if any.

And later in the day on Thursday, Judge Richard Mott made some decisions on outstanding rulings, with one of them being the items found in the burn pit at Stewart’s former residence. The judge ruled to not allow any of the items in.

The judge did, however, allow testimony from Julie Brinkman in that Stacey Stewart was the last person to see Michele alive.

The second-degree murder trial for Calvin Harris continued on Friday. There were more arguments heard, and then the prosecution rebuttal witnesses were being called to the stand.

The closing arguments are expected to take place on Wednesday, May 18 at the Schoharie County Courthouse.
