A sketch of the Mosaic to be erected at Rawley Park in the Town of Richford.

This May, a community-developed mosaic will be erected at Rawley Park in the Town of Richford, Tioga County, thanks to a grant from the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes and the work and donations of a core of dedicated townspeople called the Friends of Rawley Park and the creativity of several dozen more residents. The concept for the mosaic was developed through talking with adult townspeople and collecting drawings from Richford children.

The mosaic artist collaborating on the project is Annemarie Zwack, who has been active in community-generated art and as a mosaic artist for over 10 years. Her work can be seen near Cinemapolis, on Tioga Street, and near the Sciencenter.

The mosaic will be installed on May 14, 15, 21 and 22 (weather permitting), at Rawley Park in Richford on Route 38, just north of the intersection of 38 and Route 79.

All are invited to make art, learn about mosaics, or support community-generated public arts projects.
