Bees and compost classes at CCE Tioga

Have you been thinking about having your own beehives? Join Cornell Cooperative Extenstion (CCE) on May 18, at 6 p.m. for a fun and informative workshop led by a veteran beekeeper. She will walk you through what it takes to be a beekeeper – how to buy hives and bees, basic bee care, and harvesting honey.

Want to learn more about the science of composting? Dr. Compost himself, Kevin Mather of CCE Broome, will lead you through the ins and outs of composting. The class will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 11 a.m.

Call 687-4020 to register for the classes. Each class is $5 per person, and children can attend for free. The classes will be at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County, 56 Main St. in Owego.
