Fifteen games involving 25 Little League, Tee Ball and Girls Softball teams after a traditional downtown to park parade and the use of the new Dick Franz Girls Softball Field headlined Owego Little League’s 65th Opening Day at Hyde Park. Here’s VP-Baseball Steve Terry’s Work Bee report: It was a success. We only had a handful of familiar faces, but they put in another 10-plus hour day. We were able to finish the infields of all three baseball fields and lay sod down on the new softball field. The visitor dugout on Raftis and the green outfield wall on Beauter were repaired and/or painted.

I would love to mention the individuals that help but they asked me not to. I just hope that the community understands that without their sweat equity, our league would not continue to be absolutely free for any player that wants to play baseball or girls softball.
