The Tioga United Way held its annual meeting and awards luncheon at the Owego Treadway Inn on Thursday, April 21.

Melinda Byrne was elected to the Board. She is a student member from Newark Valley High School.

Other Board members elected for one year were John Knowlton, David Astorina, Dorothy Richter and Robert Jensen. Board members elected for three year terms included Jay Dinga, Georgianna Horvath, Gilbert Knapp, John Knowlton, Eva Mae Musgrave, Barbara Patten, Daniel Sloat and Shawn Yetter.

The Board President, John Knowlton, and the Executive Director, Carolyn Palladino, gave awards to major contributors. The recipients were Lockheed Martin, Tioga Downs and employees, Tioga State Bank, IBM, Owego Apalachin Central School District, and the Tioga County Employees.

Also recognized for their corporate contributions were Visions FCU, M&T Bank, NBT Bank, Scoville-Meno, Chemung Canal Bank, Owego Veterinary Hospital, Sanmina Employees, Guthrie Healthcare Systems, and Franziska Racker Center employees.

Tioga United Way supports 31 partner agencies throughout Tioga County.
