Waverly man arrested after police pursuit

Joseph G. Sindoni, age 30.

On April 7, 2016, at about 2:52 p.m., a Trooper from the Endwell station observed a vehicle that was being driven by Joseph G. Sindoni, age 30 of Waverly, N.Y. that had been involved in a pursuit earlier that day which the Waverly Police Department initiated.

The driver was also a suspect in a residential burglary that the New York State Police were investigating that occurred on March 8, 2016, on Madigan Road in the Town of Barton, Tioga County, N.Y.

When the Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle on South Nanticoke Road, in Endicott, the suspect failed to comply and drove away. Shortly after, Sidoni stopped on River Terrace and fled on foot toward the river.

A search of the wooded area was conducted by members of the New York State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the Endicott Police Department.

Sindoni was located hiding in the woods and was arrested for the felony of burglary 2nd degree without further incident. He was arraigned in the Town of Barton Court and was remanded to the Tioga County jail with no bail set at this time. His next court date is pending.

Sidoni is currently the suspect in several other burglaries in the area, as well as Chemung County. When Sodini was arrested he was found to possess numerous items which the State Police believe are the proceeds from additional burglaries.

The State Police in Endwell are currently working with other State Police stations, as well as other agencies, in an attempt to identify the owners of this property. If you have any information please call Senior Investigator Michael Franz at State Police Endwell at (607) 754-7519.
