Scott Grant, director of sales and operations of Rudra Management Company, announced on Friday the sale of the 74-room Holiday Inn Express, 66-room Hampton Inn and the 80-room Owego Treadway Inn and Conference Center, all located in Owego, N.Y.

This property has been in operation for over 47 years and includes a 14,000 square foot conference center and a three meal dining operation that sits on the river’s edge.

Rudra Management Company plans to invest over one million dollars in renovations and upgrades at the properties.

“We intend to reclaim the Treadway Conference Center’s long held position as the premier banquet facility in the Southern tier, and be the destination of choice for area weddings, business meetings and association business,” said Grant.

He added, “All existing contracts will be honored, and we are excited to reach out to the community to bring even more business to this wonderful facility that is embedded in the fabric of the community.”

The Owego Treadway Inn will undergo a significant transformation, as it is re-branded as a Red Roof Inn.

Grant stated, “While we recognize the tradition and value the Treadway facility has represented over the years, it was our belief that it was time to freshen up the hotel and acquiring a national franchise for the property is a good first step for us.”

The Treadway property is currently open and will convert to the Red Roof Inn within the next 60 days while the conference center will continue operation as the Owego Treadway Conference Center.

“The Potter family developed this entire complex over 47 years ago and operated the properties until the sale,” added Grant. “Not only did we acquire three wonderful hotels, but also coming on board with us is all the associates who have worked for many, many years at the various properties.”

Grant stated that the decision to keep all of the staff intact was a simple one.
